Scheduling Information
How to Schedule
Our conveniently located, freestanding
outpatient imaging centers provide free parking in safe, well-lighted
areas adjoining our buildings. Some of our locations offer transportation
services for patients if they do not have a ride to their appointment.
Please advise patients to contact CAI if transportation is necessary--and
to use this web site to check out the specifics concerning the
CAI location he or she will be visiting.
In order to make an appointment for patients at CAI, your scheduling
staff will need to provide the following patient information:
- name
- date of birth
- home phone
- work phone
- Social Security number
- insurance information
- type of exam
- diagnosis
- information on any prior films of the area being scanned
- information on any previous surgeries
- any metal implants or metal-related occupations (such as machinist
or welder)
- any history of claustrophobia
- medication allergies
- blood thinning medications
In order to streamline the registration process, we encourage
patients to call us with pre-registration information. We also
ask that all patients arrive 20 minutes prior to their exam time
to verify registration information and prepare for their exam.
CAI takes pride in staying on schedule, which in turn keeps your
patients on schedule. Please instruct patients to wear comfortable,
metal-free clothing, including a metal-free bra for women. It may
be necessary for patients to change into a gown.
Diagnostic X-Rays
Referring physicians must order
the exam. If a physician has made an appointment at CAI and a
patient needs to change it, he/she should contact CAI immediately
to reschedule. Extended hours may be available to accommodate patient
needs.
Because patient satisfaction is important to us, we ask that each
patient complete a patient satisfaction survey before leaving our
center. In addition to helping us enhance our services, the survey
will alert us to any specific issues that need follow-up.
| Frequently
Asked Questions: |
Q: How soon can the
patient get an appointment with CAI?
A: Our centers offer extended hours, including early mornings, evenings,
and weekends. In many cases, we can schedule patients for the same day
you call for an appointment.
Q: Can the patient make his/her own appointment with
CAI?
A:
All other procedures need a physician's order, which can be called or
faxed to any of our locations. We can then schedule an appointment on
the spot, call the patient, or the patient can call us.
Q: Are there weight restrictions on certain exams?
A: There are weight limits that are individual to each modality.
Q: Will the patient need a driver?
A: Some procedures require a driver for patient safety (i.e., if sedation
is administered). When the appointment is made, patients will be told
if a driver is needed. They should make the necessary arrangements
or let CAI know in advance so we can help.
Q: The patient is coming from out of town.... Where
can he or she spend the night?
A: With 24 hours advance notice, CAI is happy to assist patients with
overnight accommodations.
Q: What other services does CAI provide?
A: Please use this web site to check out services provided by your local
CAI location. |
